Westminster Abbey not the only place for royal headwearWestminster Abbey will not be the only place where crowns will be seen on Friday. Replicas of the regal ornamental headdress will be dotted around shops in Marlow as part of a competition to celebrate the Royal wedding. Town centre traders are getting in the spirit of Britain's big party day. Starting on the wedding day itself visitors to the town will be asked to spot a number of crowns displayed in shop windows and in pubs. Annie Mulady, president of organisers the Marlow Chamber of Trade, said Prince William and Kate Middleton's special occasion was something traders wanted to get involved with. “It's a fun day out for all and an opportunity to pull visitors into the town and get residents to shop here as well,” she said. Those who successfully count the right number of crowns on show will be in the running for three top prizes donated by the shops involved. The chamber hopes to attract more trade with the contest – which is similar to its previous April Fools and scarecrow 'trails'. Ms Mulady said: “Because the scarecrow and April Fools trails were so successful we thought it would be nice to do something around the Royal wedding.” Shoppers will also be asked on their competition forms to say which store had the best window display. The competition will be running until the following Bank Holiday Monday night. Forms can be found at participating stores.
