All Chief Constables

Dear Colleague

I know that you will all share with me the horror of the recent violent attacks in both London and Manchester. Whilst we are working hard to investigate these brutal crimes, we are also working hard to reassure the public. As we face these new types of threat, we have been responding to an unprecedented amount of enquiries from the business community asking what they should do or what they should tell their staff in these circumstances. I am writing to you, in my new role as the NPCC lead for business, to ask you to reach out to that large part of your community and reinforce the following guidance as widely as possible.

The new National Business Crime Centre, based here in London, is still in its infancy, but will be linking in directly with most of the national bodies it has access to. However, you will have far greater reach through local channels and smaller businesses more bespoke to your areas.

Please encourage your business community, and their security teams where they exist, to utilise the very sound advice on the following websites, aimed at such audiences, in particular, the newly amended Run, Hide, Tell videos and links to Citizen Aid.
