Excel Communications – From West Street to the World
The innocuous plaque at number 45 offers you “World Class Training and Development†which is a big claim but one that has stood the test of time for 25 years. Inside the Grade 2 listed building is a small local team who Diagnose, Design and Deliver innovative, leading edge soft skills training to FTSE 100 companies and small, local start ups with workshops and events delivered from Bucks to Bahamas.,
Why? Because so many market places are now global our clients are having to recruit, sell, manage, coach and lead their businesses in the face of more competition than ever. Only by developing the very best, interpersonal people skills can our clients flourish and prosper – we give them those capabilities.
Who? Excel Communications have 43 Coaches and Trainers based across the UK and Europe, working in 8 European languages and each specialising in different topics and industries. Our clients range from board level leaders, through all levels of management to the wide range of key staff who need to excel at teamworking, sales or customer service.
What? We only deliver bespoke, tailored events direct to clients as our belief is that this focuses the training on what is relevant to a specific audience in a way that ‘open’ courses cannot emulate. Some requests are quite straightforward and for each of our 25 years in business the most popular topic is for Professional Presentation Skills. Our world renowned workshop creates more engaging, confident presenters whether they are sales people or leaders, the CEO or a new employee. We also develop the selling skills of Salespeople, management capabilities of Managers and leadership competencies in business Leaders. And Coaching is both a service we provide as well as a topic that we train to others.
How? Workshops are carefully designed to be fun, engaging, thought provoking and challenging. No death-by-PowerPoint but just experienced trainers, interactive sessions and blank flip charts that fill up with colourful, insightful models and invaluable tools for everyone to practice, get coached on and then take back to work the very next day.
How does Excel Communications help your business become even more successful? It all starts by getting in touch; as a full service consultancy we can help you with the diagnosis and design or, if you know what you need, we can come and just deliver the skills that will ensure your business strategy becomes a reality.

Many thanks to Bernard Burger and his team for hosting the business meeting held on the 21st September at their premises in the High Street. The meeting was chaired by Vice President, Annie Mulady and over 35 members and prospective members attended.
The meeting was kicked off with a presentation from Duncan Curtis of Vue UK Ltd who gave us an overview of the opportunities for Marlow and Marlow businesses to showcase on a ‘virtual tour’ of Marlow. We are seeking feedback from members as to whether they believe this is something that the town can benefit from. If you saw the presentation and have some thoughts or would like to know more, please contact any of the Executive (contact details on our website www.marlowchamber.com) .

Inspector Ray Wilkes updated the meeting on a new police initiative ‘Operation Griffin’ concerning terrorism in the business community, being launched in February 2010 – Inspector Wilkes will continue to update the Chamber at future meetings.
Jo Braybrooke updated members on the latest developments on applications submitted by Sainsburys (being heard on 4th November) and Waitrose (being heard on the 7th October).
