Ecrebo Ltd - Shopping in the Digital Age’ - 8th October 2010 (AGM presentation) The digital age has crept up on us and is revolutionising the world as we know it. Retailers are adopting new technologies to not only improve on ‘traditional’ practices but are finding new ways of communicating and catering to their customers. How can Marlow improve its company’s ‘green’ credentials, reduce store costs and make CRM programmes more effective – all in one go? Shortlisted for Barclaycard Entrepreneur Business of the Year, Ecrebo’s technology enables Marlow retailers to do all of the above with one programme. Ecrebo is a free tool for both retailers & consumers, essentially providing digital receipts in place of the expensive paper version. However, not only do retailers save money and reduce the impact on the environment (which feeds into retailers ‘green’ agenda’s), the versatile programme also captures and translates buying habits into essential CRM data, allowing retailers to reach their customers with highly targeted promotions and without the use of spam. For the Marlow customer it is a brilliant and easy way of not losing receipts and keeping their wallet / purse clutter free. Like most brilliant ideas, this almost sounds too simple! David Vernon and Hassan Hajji are two young entrepreneurs with an investment banking background. They founded Ecrebo and are currently overwhelmed with offers from venture capitalists, who’d like a slice of the action. Marlow has excitingly been selected for the pilot before the technology is distributed Nationally (and Internationally!). They have agreed to present at our next event and share with us a glimpse of Marlow shopping in the near future. We think this will prove to be one of the most exciting AGM meetings we have organised!
