Duncan & Bailey-Kennedy - 4th February 2010 Duncan & Bailey-Kennedy are a Commercial Property Practice based in Marlow and Marlow High Street started 2009 looking a little bleak, with at least 14 vacant units in the town at one point. As Easter passed we started to see a upturn in retail enquiries, and over the course of the next 6-9 months we completed the vast majority of retail lettings in the town centre, such as, JoJo Maman Bebe, Fenn Wright Manson, Phase Eight, Bradley Fine Jewellery with Links of London and Pandora, Wycombe District Council (relocating Tourist Information and new Post Office), J Wellington Jewellers, Boho, Word Processing Solutions and Woodstock of Ascot. There are a couple of exciting new occupiers in the pipeline, so watch out for some new retailers soon! In 2009 we were also very active in the industrial sector, having sold or let over 50,000 sq ft of premises in Marlow alone, in a number of separate transactions on the Globe Park Estate, Rose Industrial Estate and Thames Industrial Estate. The office market was particularly quiet during the year, being the hardest hit sector of all. However, we did see some notable transactions. 9,000 sq ft was let at Liston Exchange, the new office development to the rear of Duncan & Bailey-Kennedy was the number one locally based firm for office lettings in the year to Sept 2009, with more lettings than both second and third locally based agents combined, according to Co-Star research figures. We have offices in both Marlow and We have proved particularly strong in the retail, investment and development markets, and feel that 2010 will be exciting year in this respect.
