WSI Thames Announces new Certifications

With just a few days to go to Christmas day, we would like to start this blog post with a video that provides an entertaining 21st century view on the Nativity (enjoy) and to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas and a prosperous 2014.

The owner of WSI Thames, Tony Thornby, is a chartered engineer and full member of the Chartered Management Institute – holding an honours degree in engineering from Imperial College, London and a Masters degree in management science from Brunel University. When starting WSI Thames in 2005, he undertook 6 months of study before beginning trading and a year later passed an advanced SEO (search engine optimisation) course delivered by top SEO company Search Engine Workshops. Image of MEC Labs Landing Page Certification seal Tony has recently undertaken website landing /page training with one of the word’s leading specialists in the subject, Marketing Experiments (aka MEC Labs). We are pleased to announce that at the end of the training, he took and passed their certification exam.

N.B. a landing page, sometimes known as a “lead capture page”, is a single web page that appears in response to clicking on a search engine optimized search result or an online advertisement. The landing page will usually display directed sales copy that is a logical extension of the advertisement, search result or link (Source: Wikipedia).

This year WSI, the worldwide internet marketing community to which WSI Thames belongs, toughened their criteria for their annually renewed certification. The requirement now includes passing a rigorous WSI exam on a wide range of internet marketing topics, in addition to undertaking ongoing WSI training and passing the certification of a qualifying specialist course. We are pleased to report that Tony Thornby achieved WSI annual certification for the fifth year in succession.

Tony is currently studying for Constant Contact certification in email marketing and to pass Google’s exams to become a Google (Adwords) Partner. This will be followed by a four month training programme for certification in Social Selling: This training and certification will be delivered by Sales for Life?and will equip Tony to deliver practicable measurable social media usage to company sales teams. ?If you’d like to know more about social selling , you will find the video below useful.
